Pangea

Wedding season has officially ended for 2012, and although we have been recharging our proverbial batteries we also have been working on some exciting new projects.
We are thrilled to announce a collaboration with a spectacular private property outside of Petaluma. We first encountered Pangea during the planning process of its owners, Sophie + James’ wedding. Like most brides planning a wedding at a private property Sophie needed help visualizing and executing an event in a remote raw space. It was clear from the moment we stepped out of the car that Pangea was a very special place. Although we knew it was going to be a challenge, the natural beauty and views from Pangea inspired us to take on the task of putting together their 170 person wedding. We immediately embarked on the 10 month journey of planning this event, with Sophie and James tirelessly working to improve the property while we put together the details of their big day.
September 15th finally came and everyones hard work paid off. The vastness of the views and the colors of the sky during sunset were breathtaking. Dusk was so magical that the party hummed with appreciation and “OH MY GOD this is amazing”s. After the dust settled from their wedding day Sophie & James contacted MAP about the possibility of renting out their property to others for private events. Knowing that there are a lack of spectacular venues on the market , and what a special place Pangea is, we jumped at the opportunity to assist them in making this a reality.
So, I would like to formally introduce Pangea as wedding and event venue. Please contact us if you are interested in finding out information about the rental program. We would also love to personally walk you through the space to see it for yourself. (by appointment only)
Here are some photos courtesy of Jenna Walker from Sophie + James’ wedding day to give you a sense of the space. Hope you enjoy the photos and have an opportunity to experience Pangea with us very soon.
Sweet Mill Valley Outdoor Art Club Wedding

One of our favorite things about weddings are when a couple integrates something personal and sentimental into their wedding day. For Kellie, a talented local artist, it was hand painted details that had everybody cooing. Her invitations were literally, a work of art – and the sweet painting of birds in wood shadowboxes she used as her table numbers also ended up being special gifts to her bridal party and family at the end of the night.
Handmade details, a sunny June day, a lush garden setting and the GORGEOUS Claire Pettibone wedding dress made for a special day for Kellie & Alex and these amazing photos captured by Gia Canali. These photos are also featured on Once Wed Blog.

Vintage Fairytale at Nestledown

We were happy to work on this wedding at Nestledown, a wacky, whimsical, beautifully special place “nestled” in the woods near Los Gatos. What was created was an eclectic event with antique touches that highlighted the couples shared love of fantasy and whim. Thanks to Meg Perlotti for the beautiful photos !
Classic & Chic in San Francisco

This wedding quite possibly captured some of the best that San Francisco has to offer. . . the classic beauty of the Flood Mansion in Pacific Heights for the ceremony, and the chic contemporary yet historic background of the Ferry Building for the reception. Thanks to Lisa Leftkowitz for the gorgeous photos!

Intimate San Francisco Wedding

Emily & Stephen knew that San Francisco was the place they wanted to begin their life as Husband & Wife. But living in Seattle they needed somebody on the ground in San Francisco to guide them through the process! They turned to MAP for that assistance and we are glad they did! Although their wedding was an intimate 30 person that lasted 3 hours, it was spectacular affair filled with love, joy and amazing views! Check out the link for photos and details on how the event came together.

Lucky!
August 10, 2009 § 2 Comments
This has been an amazing year for MAP Events and we feel particularly lucky to have had the opportunities we have had this year. We will be sharing the photos as we get them.
This past April, I felt very fortunate to have had a wedding on a stunning property, with a sophisticated couple, agreeable weather, amazing vendors, and perfect timing.
I met the stylish Bettina and followed her up Sage Canyon Rd to her then fiance’s property in St Helena. I must admit, I silently said to myself…”This is going to be tricky!” She wanted an April wedding, on a hillside and slanted cement road outside a beautiful stone wine cave with an amazing view of their vineyard and Lake Hennessey. . . and she didn’t like the looks of tents! I promptly called Classic Party Rents for a wood-framed, 3-sided, clear top tent, and prepared the property manager (with his skeptical raised eyebrows) for “Road Closure” and days of property disturbance!
Luckily, the next door neighbors are the Chappellets who offered their beautifully manicured Meadow for the ceremony. I crossed my fingers for good mid-April weather!
Luckily, Bettina is artistically inclined and got very involved in the design aspects with amazing engraved invitations and menus cards (art pieces themselves). Michele Papineau put her amazing calligraphy touches on top.
Luckily, we worked with Radeff Design Studios to create a classic, yet soft, environment with flowers, furniture, and drape
Luckily, Durell Coleman was available and flew up with his band to light up the dance floor with R&B tunes
Luckily, Paula Le Duc exists as a catering company and Sound on Stage exists as a sound company! “Perfect IS just fine!”
Luckily, all the guests arrived promptly on shuttles for ceremony and cocktails in the Meadow and just as the weather dropped below 70, it was time to head for the winery, a short wine tour, and second cocktail in the wine cave before entering the dinner tent!
Luckily, it didn’t rain as was forecast earlier in the week and we could keep the side of the tent open to the vineyard –with glowing up-light in the vineyards below.
Luckily, the Bryant Family wine doesn’t suck – ha!
Luckily, Meg Smith shot the wedding and we have these great photos to remind and inspire…
